Scott Alden is a Partner and leads the Construction, Infrastructure and Projects team at Holding Redlich.  With more than 15 years’ experience, Scott specialises in front end projects and transaction documentation with a particular focus on procurement, drafting and negotiating the contract and associated agreements and providing compliance and other advice as needed.  Scott has significant expertise in the sectors of government, construction, property, ports and transport, defence, social housing and water.

Scott’s experience includes the following major projects:

  • Acting for NSW Housing on various social housing construction projects including drafting and negotiating the GC21 contracts and associated project deeds
  • Acting for Veolia in relation to long term water BOOT Scheme
  • Advising Sydney Desalination Plant in relation to its project agreements, in particular its long term O&M Agreement with Veolia
  • Advising Sydney Water on the complete outsourcing of all of its O&M and FM requirements
  • Drafting and negotiating various development agreements based on the Australian Standard suite of contracts for private sector developers, including AS2124, AS4000, AS4300 and AS4902 (as well as associated consultancy agreements, minor works agreements and construction management agreements)
  • Advising Charles Sturt University regarding development, design and construction contracts and project delivery agreements in respect of its student accommodation
  • Advising Sydney City Council in relation to the Early Contractor Involvement form of procurement for its major swimming pool and aquatic centre development at Green Park
  • Advising clients in relation to defects and early dispute resolution including in relation to major potential litigation regarding defective on-site electricity generation works
  • Advising Government Property NSW in relation to its FM Contract for its NSW Property Portfolio
  • Advising Cockram in relation to design and construction project with University of Western Sydney
  • Advising Water NSW in relation to a number of its building and construction contracts and projects in and around its dams and other assets
  • Advising ISPT in relation to Deeds and Construction Agreements regarding the required works (landlord and tenant) to Defence Plaza (with Defence as tenant)
  • Advising on various Security of Payment claims
