Matthew has been fully engaged in the health and safety profession for more than 25 years and brings a wide range of experience, knowledge and a long-standing commitment to the challenges of managing safety and health.

He is currently the OHS Coordinator at the City of Greater Geraldton, Western Australia and Member of the College of Fellows Executive, Safety Institute of Australia.

Matthew is also an independent expert member of the WA Commission for Safety and Health and the WorkSafe Risk Advisory Committee.

In recent years Matthew has had managerial safety responsibility for over 1000 employees engaged in numerous engineering and environmental projects in the marine, construction and resources sectors. His major clients include Chevron, Woodside, BHPB and Rio Tinto.

Highly academically qualified and with extensive experience in adult training and education, Matthew communicates with all workforce levels whether in toolbox site meetings or running thought leadership sessions with senior managers.

Matthew’s skills include: facilitating risk assessment stakeholder workshops; developing and promoting safe design processes and solutions; planning occupational health and hygiene programs; developing safety management systems, project safety plans, procedures and tender submissions (safety component); site and system inspections, audits and reviews; and providing leadership education and training sessions.
