Head of Legal & Corporate Affairs
Kathryn Hinde is a practising solicitor and is the Head of Legal & Corporate Affairs for Allity, which is a network of 45 aged care homes located across Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia.
In her role with Allity, Kathryn is often required to provide advice to stakeholders within the Allity business on a diverse range of matters, including acquisitions of aged care businesses; drafting construction contracts for greenfields and brownfields developments; advising on Resident Agreements, Powers of Attorney and Guardianship issues; training staff on Rights and Responsibilities of Residents; creating governance systems to ensure Key Personnel and Prudential requirements are met; and assisting Managers in the homes with complaints and compliance issues.
Since 2002, Kathryn has worked both as an in-house lawyer in other aged care organisations such as the former DCA Agedcare Group; Bupa and the SVHA Group as well as a legal adviser with ACknowledge Advisory to a number of smaller ‘Mum and Dad’ operators. This experience has afforded Kathryn an understanding ‘from the inside’ of the challenges faced by operators of aged care homes given the constantly changing and increasingly complex regulatory landscape.
