Marcus Humphreys

Marcus has been a workplace relations practitioner for over 20 years, with deep experience in industry representation and legal academic scholarship.

He is currently an industrial relations specialist with global energy company ConocoPhillips. He is also a sessional lecturer in Employment and Industrial Practice at the ANU College of Law. He was formerly the Employee Relations Manager for global engineering company, WorleyParsons. From 2006–2008 Marcus was employed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia (CCIWA) and was successful in establishing the Australian Chamber Alliance (ACA).

From 2003–2006 Marcus was the Workplace Relations Manager at the Chamber of Commerce Northern Territory (CCNT), providing industrial relations for major projects, including the ConocoPhillips Darwin LNG Project, which was completed six months ahead of schedule.

Marcus’s contribution to workplace relations has been recognised by the ConocoPhillips Spirit Award (2014) and The Bechtel Leadership Award (1997).

In 2006 Marcus was also awarded the Northern Land Council Individual Award for the previous five years for ‘making a difference through outstanding commitment to improving engagement with Aboriginal people in the areas of jobs, partnerships and land use agreements’.

Marcus has a Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws.
