Drew is a Partner in the Employment, Pensions and Incentives practice at Herbert Smith Freehills in Sydney.

Drew works with employers in the areas of industrial relations, diversity and general employment law. He has particular experience in workforce planning with clients across the mining, financial services, construction, energy and resources, media and retail industries as well as the education sector.

He has experience in assisting some of Australia’s largest employers with a range of employment and industrial relations issues including: complex investigations into allegations of misconduct; industrial bargaining and disputes; managing litigation in the Federal and High Courts; workforce planning and strategy; occupational safety & health investigations; and head office advisory and contracts of employment and other agreements governing working conditions.

Drew regularly provides advice on drafting industrial instruments and advising on award variations and certification of agreements; appearing as counsel on contested industrial matters in Fair Work Australia; and advising on the implementation of workforce strategies, including significant re-structures and redundancy programs.

He advises on human resource/industrial relations strategies and planning for existing and new workforces with particular emphasis on new projects and organisational change within established employers; and international integration of employment terms and conditions for global organisations.
